WinFF – An Open source Video Converter for Linux and Windows
WinFF is a GUI for the command line video converter, FFMPEG. It will convert most any video file that FFmpeg will convert. WinFF does multiple files in multiple formats at one time. You can for example convert mpeg’s, flv’s, and mov’s, all into avi’s all at once. WinFF is available for Windows 95, 98 , ME, NT, XP, VISTA, and Debian, Ubuntu, Redhat based GNU/Linux distributions.
Installation of WinFF in Ubuntu 12.10 / Linux mint 14
Open the Terminal by pressing CTRL+ALT+T and add its PPA:
$ sudo add-apt-repository ppa:paul-climbing/ppa
Update the Softwares Sources list:
$ sudo apt-get update
$ sudo apt-get install winff
Open WinFF GUI interface:
Add some videos by clicking the “Add” button. Select the Output format in the “Convert To” drop-down box and select the desired preset in the “Preset” drop-down box and click “Convert” to begin the conversion.
You can also see the preview before convert. That’s it. Enjoy!!!
