Compress images in Linux mint and Ubuntu using Trimage compressor

Trimage is a cross-platform GUI and command-line software to optimize image files via optipng, advpng and jpegoptim depending on the filetype (Currently PNG and JPG files are supported). All image files are losslessy compressed on the highest available compression levels. Trimage gives you various input functions to fit your own workflow: A regular file dialog, dragging and dropping and various command line options.

Install Trimage compressor in Linux mint 14/13 and Ubuntu 12.10/12.04

Open the Terminal by pressing CTRL+ALT+T and enter the below mentioned command to install Trimage.

sudo apt-get install trimage
Open Trimage through Dashboard or Menu:
The main window of Trimage:
Add the photos which you want to compress by clicking on the Add and compress button:
Now the compression process will begin. It will take a while depends upon the image size.
